Meeta and Law | EV100

For a first time the Estonian Lawyers Days will be opened with a theatre play. “Meeta ja õigus” (Meeta and Law) is written especially for 35. Estonian Lawyers Days by Estonian Writer Maimu Berg to celebrate 100 years of Estonian legal science. Director of the play is Piret Kuub. The play takes place in Tartu, Estonia in 1920, 1931, 1940 and 2018 and speaks about Estonian linguist Meeta Villecourt (widow of French Lawyer and linguist Louis Villecourt), President of Estonian Supreme Court, Kaarel Parts and chancellor of justice Anton Palvadre. Actors: Raivo Adlas, Urmas Kalla and Julia Laffranque (visiting professor of Tartu University, judge at the European Court of HUman Rights). Featuring Oscar Helmut and Tobias Louis Laffranque. Music: Heino Eller “Kodumaine viis”, Edwrad Grieg “Solveigi laul”, Anton Palvadre lapsepõlve aegne laulumäng “Liinamäng”, Carl Orff “Carmina Burana” , Ludwig van Beethoven/Friedrich Schiller “L’Ode à la Joie”.
