“At the core of the Estonia 100 summer events are communities, getting together and celebrating," Maarja-Liisa Soe, Estonia 100 program director said.
"The annual joint cycling tour, which initially started out with a hundred riders participating will undertake a real “tour of tours” in the centenary year. The tour d'ÖÖ in August passes through 10 Estonian cities and invites thousands of people to join the united ride," Soe explained.
According to one of the organizers Tõnis Savi, the purpose of Tour d'ÖÖ from the very beginning has been to promote cycling and cycling traffic culture all over Estonia.
"We have been organizing these joint rides for eight years now in different parts of Estonia. During this time, the number of people cycling in cities has increased significantly, and with this tour of all tours we want to show that there are even more of us. Since the tours take place all over Estonia, it’s possible to cycle your way all around the country and enjoy other Estonia 100 Great Summer Week events," Savi added.
