„And the door is open a bit…“ Acrylic illustrations on recyled materials.

Eila Tõnisson´s exhibition of illustrations „The doors“ is open in Sõru Museum. Expressive portraits depict people around the artist and open up their moods, attitudes, thoughts and perhaps even secrets. She has used mainly recycled materials to paint on.

The artworks are also inspired by Estonia´s 100th anniversary. Which kind of doors have we been through during the last 100 years ? When we step out of the gates of our hopes and dreams is there going to be a sunny or thundery road ahead of us?

Eila is a teacher of art and handicraft in Emmaste Elementary school. At the same time there is another great exhibition taking place in Sõru muuseum. It´s Emmaste Elementary School´s Art exhibition called „I´m Estonian but still be Hiiumaa islander“.
