Creative competition for the themes of Estonia 100 and Estonia’s EU Presidency | EV 100

“We are looking for a long-term partner to help develop visual solutions and elaborate messages for the centenary which can be used by everyone giving presents or organising events celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia,” said Anneli Ohvril, Head of Marketing and Communications for Estonia 100.

The competition also seeks solutions to introduce Estonia as the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Some thirty thousand visitors from foreign countries are expected to visit Estonia during the presidency and high-level events will attract media attention and hundreds of members of the press from all over the world. “As the presidency holders we will be more visible, both in Brussels and Europe. While preparations for the role of the Presidency are already well underway, we also need to think about how to introduce our country and its people,” said Tiina Urm, Head of Communication for the EU Presidency.

The Republic of Estonia will celebrate its 100th anniversary from April 2017 to April 2020. Estonia is scheduled to hold the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2018. This will provide a unique opportunity to develop a programme to introduce Estonia in foreign countries. This means that the visual solutions for Estonia 100 and Estonia’s EU Presidency should work both independently and together.

The creative competition is open to all agencies with a long and versatile level of experience in the field. Joint entries – agencies working together, are also accepted. The closing date for entries is 1 September.

The best entries will be decided by the following panel of judges: Jane Oblikas (the chair of the panel, Estonian Design Centre); Ilona Gurjanova (Estonian Association of Designers); Jaanus Tamme (Estonian Association of Marketing Communication Agencies); Alari Orav (Estonian Design Team, Enterprise Estonia); Aive Hiiepuu (Estonian Public Relations Association); Anu-Mall Naarits (Marketing Institute of Estonia), Maria Alajõe (Chancellery of the Riigikogu); Anneli Ohvril (Government Office; Estonia 100); Tiina Urm (Government Office, EU Presidency), and Sean Larkins (WPP Government and Public Sector Practice).

Further information on the competition is available from the eProcurement environment. The Government Office will hold an information day for prospective entrants on 25 July and 4 August.
