Public architecture competitions began in the fall of 2014 and ended by 2016. The Estonian Association of Architects led 15 architecture competitions for renewing the town centres in Põlva, Tõrva, Võru, Rapla, Kärdla, Valga, Rakvere, Viljandi, Narva, Kuressaare, Põltsamaa, Elva, Tallinna, Jõhvi, and Kuremäe town centres.
