The Days of Russian culture | EV100

The idea of this fwstival belongs to Alexei Yanson, counselor and Russian national secretary at the Ministry of Education of the first Republic of Estonia.

The first The Days of Russian culture took place in 1924 in Pechorsky District, that was at that time a part of Estonia and further on were carried out in different towns and districts until 1940. When the Soviet Government came to power the tradition of this festival was broken off and the majority of its organizers fell under repressions. In 2014 the tradition was resumed by Cultural-Educational and Sport Community «Vityaz» with the blessing of Metropolitan Cornelius, the Metropolitan bishop of Tallinn and All Estonia.

In the autumn of 2017 The Days of Russian culture will take place for the first time all over Estonia. The revival of this tradition is a great present on the occasion of centenary of the Republic of Estonia.

The organizers of the project seek for partners. The project needs additional financing for renting halls, equipment, the workers’ salary and for covering transport costs
