Estonian War of Independence 100: Armoured train begins its journey from Kehra | EV100

‘The armoured train No. 7 Wabadus and its exhibition will begin its journey from Kehra,’ said Margus Kasterpalu, Head of Major Events of Estonia 100 Organising Committee. ‘The journey of the armoured train is only a fraction of events that commemorate the centenary of Estonian War of Independence,’ Kasterpalu added.

According to the director of Estonian War Museum Hellar Lill, the armoured train is one of the most important symbols of the Estonian War of Independence, that has not gained enough attention up to now. After covering the war frontline, the armoured train will tour the railroads of Estonia from 1 February until the end of the year.

The journey of the armoured train is part of the series of events in January 2019, which commemorate 100 years from Estonian War of Independence. Several reenactment battles, hikes and ceremonies take place, see all events here: www.ev100.ee/en
